Mallorca 1-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid's six-game winning streak in LaLiga came to an end on Saturday as they were defeated 1-0 by lowly Mallorca.

With 57 points, Atletico is tied for fourth place with Barcelona, who have two games in hand, and three points behind second-placed Sevilla. Real Madrid, which plays Getafe later on Saturday, is in first place with 69 points.

Coach Diego Simeone rested many players in preparation for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City, and Atletico struggled to establish their rhythm against Mallorca, who were on a seven-game losing streak.

In the 71st minute, Vedat Muriqi, a Kosovo striker, converted a penalty after Atletico Madrid defender Reinildo Mandava fouled Pablo Maffeo.

Real Madrid 2-0 Getafe

Real Madrid had previously lost to Getafe this season, but they had avoided making mistakes and were far more in control. Los Blancos were composed on the ball and effective in attack, creating consistent chances in front of the Santiago Bernabeu faithful, despite Toni Kroos and Luka Modric enjoying well-deserved rest ahead of the Champions League second leg match against Chelsea.

Real Madrid beat Getafe 2-0 on Saturday night in LaLiga thanks to Casemiro's diving header off a fantastic outside-the-boot Vinicius Jr. cross and Lucas Vazquez's left-footed "pass" into the net following brilliant combination play with Rodrygo Goes.

Levante 2-3 Barcelona

Barcelona came from behind to win a thrilling 3-2 victory over Levante on Sunday night, reclaiming second place in La Liga.

The hosts, who did not appear to be a relegation candidate, pushed their star-studded guests to the limit, matching them as they played their part in a thrilling game of football, only to be left with little to show for their laborious efforts.

Xavi Hernandez's side's brilliance eventually won out, as goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Pedri, and Luuk de Jong were enough to negate penalties from Jose Luis Morales and Gonzalo Melero.

The tone for a tense game was set early on, with both sides seeing goalmouth action; Levante striker Jose Luis Morales was almost gifted a goal by Dani Alves after 20 seconds, but his effort went just wide, while Frenkie de Jong also came close with a curling effort that sailed just over the bar after a few minutes.

Despite Morales almost scored a Puskas Award contender - weaving his way through Barcelona and only being denied a solo classic by Ter Stegen and an Eric Garcia goal-line clearance - and other outstanding chances for both sides, the referee blew for halftime with the score tied at 0-0.
