Highlights

The first half was a close affair, with Norrington-Davies heading barely over for the hosts and Harry Wilson forcing Mark Flekken into a diving save. Teun Koopmeiners' early effort was stopped, and Cody Gakpo's shot was deflected just wide shortly before halftime.

The Netherlands came out for the second half with a fresh sense of purpose, and they were up 5-0 after only five minutes. Jery Schouten found Koopmeiners just inside the box after a patient build-up, and a low shot sailed past Wales' substitute goalkeeper Adam Davies.

Wales sought a way back into the game but appeared to be on the verge of losing until two minutes into added time, when Connor Roberts provided an inviting cross that Norrington-Davies met at the far post with a powerful header after climbing above Hans Hateboer.

However, before the Welsh euphoria could fade, Netherlands substitute Frenkie de Jong led a counterattack and found Tyrell Malacia down the left flank. Weghorst raced to the penalty spot to meet his cross, diving inside the post to give his team a thrilling victory.
