Newcastle 0-1 Liverpool

The Reds briefly went two points clear of Manchester City after a 4-0 win against Leeds, courtesy of Naby Keita's first-half score, three days after their 2-0 success over Villarreal in the Champions League semi-final first leg (19).

Newcastle felt upset by the goal, believing James Milner should have been penalized for a foul on Fabian Schar in the build-up, but replays proved he won the ball legitimately and Keita took advantage of it with a clinical finish after exchanging passes with Diogo Jota.

Liverpool played with a much-changed lineup, with Jurgen Klopp resting Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, and Thiago Alcantara, but they still controlled possession and limited the hosts to few chances.

However, they were unable to increase their lead, with Sadio Mane coming closest when he blasted barely wide in the second half, as well as Jota, Luis Diaz, and Salah all missing chances.

Newcastle came close to equalizing on the break, providing a tense finish for the visitors, but Klopp's side held on to make it three Premier League wins in a row and maintain the pressure on City as the title race heats up.

Klopp was pleased with his side's controlled performance following the victory over Villarreal at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Leeds United 0-4 Manchester City

City crossed the Pennines to play Leeds United, who were in fine form.

The pressure on the reigning champions increased ahead of kick-off after Liverpool won earlier in the day.

And, with Elland Road a cauldron of noise and emotion, Pep Guardiola's side was put to the test.

The Blues took the lead early on thanks to Rodrigo's goal, but it wasn't until Nathan Ake's second-half strike made it 2-0 that they had any breathing room.

Leeds made a comeback. Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho scored late goals to seal a 4-0 victory.

Tottenham 3-1 Leicester City

Spurs could ill-afford another setback after defeats to Brighton and Brentford in their last two games, but their trusted offensive partnership produced another great display to bring their Champions League qualifying bid back on track.

With a 22nd-minute header from Son's first-half corner, Kane snapped a five-game goal drought, before Dejan Kulusevski, a surprising absence from the Spurs starting XI, came off the bench to set up Son for the second on the hour.

Spurs rose to fourth place after Son's spectacular curled finish into the top corner of the Leicester net with 11 minutes remaining, but Arsenal reclaimed the spot with a win against West Ham in Sunday's late kick-off.

Despite making wholesale changes, Leicester's spirited display was rewarded with a late consolation goal from Kelechi Iheanacho, whose stoppage-time score gave the Foxes hope heading into Thursday's vital Europa Conference League semi-final second leg at Roma.

Everton 1-0 Chelsea

Richarlison took advantage of a Chelsea blunder to give Everton a 1-0 Premier League win and potentially crucial three points in their fight to avoid relegation at a raucous Goodison Park on Sunday.

Cesar Azpilicueta handed away possession under pressure from the Brazilian attacker, who harassed the Chelsea captain into a mistake before sending a low effort past goalkeeper Edouard Mendy a minute into the second half.

Chelsea dominated possession, and Everton's Frank Lampard's side had to fight back tenaciously in the final half-hour.

They remain in the relegation zone, but with a game in hand, they close to within two points of Burnley and Leeds.

West Ham 1-2 Arsenal

After Spurs' 3-1 win over Leicester earlier in the day, the Gunners were relegated to fifth, but Gabriel Magalhaes' second-half header (55) from Gabriel Martinelli's cross proved decisive in a tense clash at the London Stadium.

Earlier in the half, Gabriel's centre-back partner Rob Holding had put the Gunners ahead when he nodded in a Bukayo Saka corner (39), only for Jarrod Bowen to square the game with a low finish just before the break (45).

West Ham deserved that goal after dominating the first half, but their Europa League efforts on Thursday left them tired in the latter minutes, and they barely threatened when Gabriel restored Arsenal's advantage.

Mikel Arteta's side had chances to win the game, with Eddie Nketiah missing multiple breakaway chances, but their small advantage was enough as they moved two points ahead of their north London rivals - and within three points of third-placed Chelsea - ensuring a top-six finish.

Meanwhile, West Ham is still in seventh place in the Premier League, three points behind sixth-placed Manchester United, and is focusing even more on the second leg of their Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

Manchester United 3-0 Brentford

Manchester United cruised to a 3-0 victory against Brentford in their final Premier League home game of the season.

With goals from Bruno Fernandes, United produced one of their finest attacking games in recent memory in Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic's farewell home game against the Bees. Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot, and Raphael Varane made the difference.

With only two away games remaining against Brighton and Crystal Palace, United has reduced the distance on fifth-placed Tottenham to three points. Meanwhile, Thomas Frank's Brentford team is still in 14th place with 40 points.

Brentford made a strong start, but United took the lead within the first ten minutes. Diogo Dalot's lofted cross up the right wing found Anthony Elanga, who cut the ball back for Fernandes to score his 50th goal for United.

Ivan Toney came close to equalizing in the 21st minute, heading barely over David de Gea's bar, and Mata almost doubled United's advantage with a powerful shot that went just past of David Raya's left post 10 minutes later.

In the 44th minute, it appeared like Mata had provided a Ronaldo goal when he squared across on the counter-attack for the Portugal international to tap in, but VAR ruled it out because the 37-year-old had strayed marginally offside.

Brentford looked brighter in the second half, with Christian Eriksen causing difficulties for United's midfield, but Ralf Rangnick's side doubled their lead just after the hour mark.

Rico Henry stupidly barged Ronaldo in the box, and referee Chris Kavanagh made little hesitation in pointing to the spot. Ronaldo's spot-kick was calmly nestled into the bottom corner for his 18th league goal of the season.

In the 79th minute, United scored again to put an end to any hopes of a Brentford comeback. Varane scored his first Premier League goal when Raya was fooled by his close-range deflected volley from a corner.
