Highlights

In the first half, Italy came closest to scoring when Gianluca Scamacca's shot hit the outside of the post, but Germany squandered chances of their own, not least when Serge Gnabry blazed over.

But 20 minutes from time, the deadlock was broken thanks to a fantastic assist from newcomer Wilfried Gnonto, who crossed for Lorenzo Pellegrini to tap in.

When the ball fell to Joshua Kimmich in the penalty box, he calmly tapped the ball in to restore parity.
